Re-Post "If I Were King"

I thought it would be a good idea to re-publish my introduction post.  It seems that some people take me a little too serious. Hopefully this will give people a better idea where I am coming from.  Sorry if I pissed anyone off.

First of all, let me assure you that I do believe in democracy. But from time to time, I just wish I was in charge so I could bring about some type of change without giving a damn about numerous ass kissing procedures to make it happen. Hence, I want to be an occasional King and not a President. I want to see a wrong, or just something that pisses me off, and come up with automatic solutions. However, sometimes I just like to shout out my own opinions. My family will assure you I don’t have a shortage of opinions. Some you might agree with, some you shouldn’t. Others might get you thinking about your own take on a particular subject.

Kings can have an opinion on anything and most people won’t tell them they’re full of it. But, don’t worry if you disagree with me, I promise not to behead you. Hell, my own family thinks I am nuts from time to time. Sometimes I just like to tell a story. It might be a story about an event in my life. I might want to talk about a book I recently read. Who knows? Basically I like to talk about politics, social wrongs, sports and other things that drive my family from the room. If I Were King, they would have to stay and listen – followed by a quiz.

  1. As a small, smarmy dog once said, "Never explain, never apologize." Some people look for things to get pissed off about, and really if anyone is getting worked up into a lather over any of your posts that's just what they're doing, looking for a chance to get offended and lash out. Don't let the rage trolls discourage you.

    Long live the king!

  2. Coming from a monarchy I know that the one thing our king is hardly ever allowed to have, is an opinion. That must be hard.

You go on being the potential outspoken and full of power king of old. I for one really enjoy reading your rantings.

  3. Don't apologize! Off with their heads!

Keep being you, I actually enjoy the "When I am King" bits. It gives a definitive idea of what you you mean and what the changes you would like to see are. Most of the time I feel the same way.

Don't worry, I'll let you know when I stop agreeing with you.

  4. Don't apologize. People just become real assholes behind the anonymity of the internet.

  5. People enjoy tearing at others on the web. This is your space, say what you want.

    Long Live the King. :D

  7. Eh, don't apologize to the haters. Haters gonna hate. It's what they do. Just tell'em to enjoy their haterade, and go back to doing whatever you like.

  8. Long live the king!

More of what everyone else says!
Its not your fault if people take things out of context. I want to hear the full unadulterated version of what you want to say. If you worry about petty bickering too much this blog will lose what might really make it special. And besides, "Your house. Your rules.", so to speak.

  9. Sadly, I haven't seen it around for a while but years ago there was a bumper sticker I loved. "If you're not pissed off you're not paying attention." So, please don't apologize for anyone getting pissed off. In fact, please do your best to piss off as many people as possible. At least that means they're paying attention. Maybe you'll actually wake up some of the sleepwalking-through-life myopia-tes (in a pathetic attempt to coin a word) who are near-sighted, drugged and narrow-minded.
PS: Jen "made" me say all this but I got to choose the words I used. :-D

  10. I am a fan, even if there ever comes a time when I disagree with you. You may also reserve the privelege of changing your mind, if that makes you feel more comfortable to shout out.
